Polish Flag Flown to the Lunar Surface (6x4") This striking red and white flag is mounted on a 20x16" presentation board above a plaque that reads: "This flag carried to the lunar surface during the first extended scientific exploration of the moon. Just 26-August 7, 1971". The presentation board also contains a lunar surface color photo (9.5x7.5") signed on the board by Al Worden and Jim Irwin plus an original Apollo 15 crew patch (with silver hidden mark). Included is a hand-signed certificate of authenticity that reads: "I certify that this flag of Poland was carried to the surface of the moon aboard the lunar module "Falcon" during the flight of Apollo 15". These are the first lunar surface artifacts that we have seen from a Command Module Pilot rather than from a moonwalker. Rare. Ex: the astronaut Al Worden collection. FLOWN Estimate: $ 5,000 - 7500
