Pole axe with blade marked cast steel and makers name on blade which is not readable. Of the type used by Edinborough, Scottland city guards. The blade measures approximately 11” across the edge and the axe is 39 ½”overall with a 35 ½” shaft. Circa 19th century and the edge of the blade shows some sharpening and use and axe is generally good overall. The hardwood shaft shows some nicks, mars and slight opening to the grain withnormal use and some wear. Est.: $700-$1400
