Hal Roach, the studio owner who developed the idea, called them "His Rascals" and they were known as "Our Gang" comedy shorts. In the early fifties, the films were syndicated for TV, and from then on, were called "The Little Rascals." In this short, the gang plays hooky and are inducted into service at a movie studio.
