Plant’s Manufacturing Co. Front Loading “Army” spur trigger revolver, .42 caliber cup primed cartridge, 4-3/4” octagon barrel marked “Merwin & Bray, New York”; blue finish to barrel and cylinder, silver plating tobrass frame, rosewood grips, #7995. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 90% original blue and approx. 85% original silver plating over the brass frame; crisp action, very good bore and markings,good grips with wear to the finish on the left lower grip and a small old loss at the left rear toe. A crisp example of this mid-1860’s revolver of which some of these were purchased privately and carried bysoldiers in the Civil War. Est.: $875-$1,750.
