This lot includes four items from Plains and Sioux origin. 1) A 20 long fur and hide wrapped stick with ornamental feathers and beads and pocket gopher skull mounted on one end. The stick bears a note written on a leather tag explaining, Hootchoo Collection Ghost Dance Stick. Sioux Tribe. Ghost Dancer. Two Deer. 2) An 18 long breastplate constructed of authentic hair bone and leather dividers. The top features seven rows of multicolored beads. The bottom bears a 5.5 fringe of glass beads and cowrie shells. Some of the leather strands are missing their beads. 3) This spear is 62 long and wrapped with fur, red cloth, and leather strapping. It is also decorated with white turkey feathers that have been dyed dark at the tips. The spear tip is a dark green glossy material, which may be glass. A leather tag on the spear is inscribed Plains Indian Style War Lance. Black obsidian tips wrapped w/ sinew deer hide, red trade cloth, elk fur, imitation eagle feathers trade beads. By the Hootchoo Collection. 4) A second spear, 52 long, with a spearhead mounted to a worm-eaten branch that has been wrapped with leather strapping, red trade cloth, and is decorated with bullet shells and turkey feathers on long leather cords.
