American Indian Par Fleche boxes. Par Fleches are rawhide containers which were fundamental to the Plains travelling way of life. Over 40 tribes are known to have historically produced par fleches. Par fleches were, out of necessity, robust and versatile objects. They were designed to carry and protect within them anything from medicinal bundles to seasonal clothing or food. These measure 10"x 6"x 8", withy the smaller ones measuring 3"x 3"x 3".
Beautifully painted. Please see photos for more detail.
