The piece features a brass pipe tomahawk from the Plains Native American Indians in circa 1817. The piece was owned by artist Randy Lee White and was on loan and displayed for many years in the Plains Indian Museum Canyon, Texas. The exceedingly rare piece shows a pipe tomahawk head with spontoon blade marked, "1817", the year it was created. The tomahawk has a wood shaft with file burned and ochre red and black painted accents. The shaft is not drilled for use as a pipe. The excellent piece is in very well preserved condition and measures overall 20 7/8"L with a 7.75"L x1 5/8"W x 1.25"D tomahawk head.
