This is an early hand worked etched copper and iron gorget from the Plains Native American Indians. The piece appears to be from circa 1800-1850. The piece has the traditional gorget style design with overlaid hand etched silver plated like iron accent across the front showing the portrait of the “Drunken Indian” holding a bottle and war club. This is a famous and desirable image. The gorget is hallmarked across the bottom with a fleur de lis and standing wolf. Measures overall 6.75”x7 5/8. Please review pictures for condition and age.
