This lot features a fine authentic set of Plains Native American Indian beaded cuffs. The set is circa 1890-1900 and shows a wonderfully manufactured piece of early glass trade seed beads on an Indian tanned hide with trade calico clothe lining. The beadwork has a chalk white background with three fleur de lis pictorial symbols in semi-transparent rose, pea green, sky blue, and semi-transparent. The top and bottom edge shows a butterscotch yellow or greasy yellow fancy edge with sky blue, dark blue, rose, and corn greasy yellow beaded tepee design. The cuffs show excellent quality and good condition for their age with only slight bead loss. All sinew and trade thread sewn. Provenance: Property of a large Native American Indian Minnesota Collection, purchased from the Cowans Auction 9/11/2015 (where it was found to be authentic). Each cuff measures 6 5/8"H x 6"W. Excellent early authentic cuffs.
