[Courtesy Wikipedia] Publisher: Reynal & Hitchcock City: New York Year: 1935 Printing Information: First Printing Binding Style: Hardcover Pagination: 268 pages Width: 5.25" Height: 7.75" Book Details: This first printing of the second title in P.L. Travers's classic 8 volume "Mary Poppins" series is complete with its original dust jacket. The text is bound by green cloth-covered boards with the title emblazoned in blue ink on the front cover and spine. An illustration stretches from the front cover to the back cover. The front dust jacket blurb offers more information about this text and its incredible popularity: "From the beginning Mary Poppins was a Great Exception. She has now definitely become a National Institution. [...] In these delectable pages you learn - or do you? - the secret of her return. You meet the King of the Castle and the Dirty Rascal in what, we confidently predict, will become established as one of the outstanding classic fantasies of all time. And there's Mr. Turvy's Second Monday and Jane's Bad Wednesday, and many expeditions into Mary Poppins' own special fairyland." Condition / Notes: Some light toning is visible on the dust jacket of this volume, particularly where the spine and front cover meet. The dust jacket also shows some marginal chipping and creasing. There are some typical minor indications of rubbing and shelfwear on the boards. The binding and hinges are solid and intact and there are no loose pages. Some light age toning is visible on the pages though the text and illustrations remain clear and legible throughout the book. - 10392-050518-IN-02120
