Pope, born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacello (1876–1958), who reigned from 1939 until his death. During WWII he advanced several peace proposals, did much to aid war victims, and, following the war, maintained a staunch anti-Communist stand. Apostolic blessing, signed “Pius pp. XII,” one page, 10.75 x 15.25, October 14, 1949. A handsome, hand-tinted apostolic blessing for Mr. and Mrs. Barry Spelts, featuring an ornate and illuminated calligraphic inscription and an affixed circular photo of Pius. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
