Choice official Spalding National League (Giles) baseball boldly signed in blue ballpoint on the sweet spot and side panels by 27 members of the 1956 Pirates team, including Roberto Clemente in his second year and Bill Mazeroski in his rookie season. Other signers include: Danny Murtaugh, Dick Groat, Vern Law, Bill Virdon, Roy Face, Frank Thomas, Bob Friend, Dick Hall, Fred Waters (ss), Bobby Bragan (ss), Dale Long, Ron Kline, Johnny O'Brien, Red Swanson, Eddie O'Brien, Lee Walls, Dick Cole, Cholly Naranjo, Hank Foiles, Howie Pollet, and Jack Shepard. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original Spalding waxed paper bag packaging for the baseball, as well as a full letter of authenticity and grading from PSA/DNA, which grades the signatures a ‘9’ and the ball a ‘6,’ for an overall grade of ‘8.’ A museum-quality piece with some of the finest signatures we have encountered on a vintage baseball.
