NOTE! This pipe was purchased from the estate of Cato Adams in 1986. He was a Black gentleman, featured in Our World magazine in the 1950s. Mr. Adams had an extensive collection of pipes from around the world. Each one had been smoked at least one. This unusual OPIUM pipe has a tree knot design case (blemish at base). The carved bowl and stem appear to be of silver content?? with perhaps copper showing through in places. The case has a 4" split along one seam. Even with flaws, this pipe is desirable. (2.1 oz)
