Enormous inflatable prop of the ‘Teacher’ used in the stage design for the famous concert ‘The Wall: Live in Berlin,’ performed by Roger Waters and numerous guest artists on July 21, 1990, to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall. The massive inflatable consists of a 36´ tall head, 20´ tall torso, and 50´ long arms and hands, and was draped over the background of the stage during the show. Includes four original candid photos of it being set up in the Potsdamer Platz before the concert. Condition of the inflatable is generally good without any punctures and the sewing remains strong throughout. While the head and face are in very good shape, the arms and body are in worse condition with paint flaking off. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the maker. The inflatable is stored within two flight cases and includes fans for inflation. Item is currently located in England and the buyer is responsible for all associated shipping costs.

The 1990 Berlin concert was overwhelmingly huge in all respects—it was staged in the vacant ‘no man’s land’ previously occupied by the Berlin Wall before a sell-out audience of 350,000. It was broadcast live around the world and a video and recording of the show were later released. Roger Waters assembled a guest lineup including the likes of Van Morrison, Bryan Adams, Sinead O’Connor, the Scorpions, and The Band to perform Pink Floyd’s famous album The Wall. As the ‘Teacher’ plays a central antagonistic role in the story developed throughout the album, this one-of-a-kind piece not only represents one of the most impressive shows ever staged but embodies a key symbolic element in Pink Floyd’s music.
