Remarkable original overhead banner used on stage during Pink Floyd’s 1980–1981 ‘The Wall Tour,’ approximately measuring 124˝ x 132˝, featuring a hand-painted design of Gerald Scarfe’s iconic crossed-hammer emblem stitched against a white and red canvas background, one of eight tacked to black drapes suspended above the audience in various venues. The insignia of two claw hammers crossed is based on a fictitious neo-Nazi organization introduced during The Wall Tour and later depicted in the 1982 film Pink Floyd—The Wall. In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining and expected wear from use.

Two months after the release of The Wall, Pink Floyd embarked on a 31-date tour that included multi-night residencies in four American and European cities: Los Angeles, California; Uniondale, New York; London, England; and Dortmund, West Germany. Small in comparison to tours past but ambitious in scope, The Wall Tour featured dramatic theatrical staging and effects, including a 12-meter-high white wall made of cardboard bricks that separated the band and their audience. Areas of the wall would dismantle as the show progressed, allowing the audience to view the scenes taking place and adding to the drama of the music. The spectacle included projections of Scarfe's animations, giant inflatables including the ‘Pink Floyd’ pig, and the band’s iconic crossed-hammers logo.
