Pigeon Forge Pottery, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, was founded by Douglas Ferguson in 1946.

From that time until 2000, the pottery created a wide range of service ware and studio art pottery based on the influences of the nature and surrounding culture of the Smoky Mountains. This included forming (by hand), molding, glazing, and handpainting the pottery pieces.

Now that Ferguson has passed away, the pottery has closed, and these wonderful wares are no longer being produced.

This item is a buttermilk pitcher with a beige matte finish and an incised white dogwood spray design on one side. The dogwood colors include brown, beige, green, and robin's egg blue. The pitcher has a bright medium blue glaze interior.

The pitcher is 5 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches from the back of the pitcher to the end of the lip. It is 4 inches at its widest and has a 2 5/8-inch base.

The pitcher is in excellent condition and is marked on the bottom with the Pigeon Forge Pottery logo. It may be 1980s-1990s vintage.

This will become more valuable as time goes on!
