This is a lithograph in colors by the Belgian artist and member of the artist group CoBrA, Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927). The depiction shows a landscape with various elements in color in the area of the sky.

The color lithograph is signed in pencil lower right ‘Alechinsky’ and numbered in pencil bottom center ‘12/100’. In addition, the work verso is marked with a yellow stamp "© LONDON ARTS INC. 1977 '. The sheet is in very good condition. It is verso reversibly mounted in three points under a mat. The dimensions of the depiction are approximately 62 x 46 cm, the sheet is 65 x 48 cm in size and the total dimensions, including the frame are 82 x 63.5 cm.



Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927)

As a Russian-Jewish immigrant, Pierre Alechinsky grew up in Brussels, where he also studied book illustration and typography at the School of Architecture and Applied Arts. In 1949, he became a member of the artist group CoBrA. Here he was mainly responsible for the production of the magazine CoBrA. In 1951, he moved to Paris, where he was taught learned etching by S.W. Hayter. Three years later, Alechinsky met Walasse Ting, who awaked him for Chinese painting techniques. In 1955, he even produced a movie in Japan about the traditional calligraphy of the country. He took part in two documentas and represented Brussels at the Venice Biennale in 1972. He is a Knight of the Legion of Honor of France and an honorary doctorate of the University of Brussels.
