<B>"Picture Gallery Bank" Cast Iron Bank</B></I> made by Shepard Hardware Co., Buffalo, NY, circa 1885. Place payment in the man's hand and pull the lever on the back of the bank to deposit the coin. A second lever moves the characters in the window boxes showing numbers, words and pictures. Not only is this bank instructive, but it was a fun way to save money. <I>From the William Esser Collection.<BR></B></I><B><BR>Condition</B></I>: Minor paint loss and chipping. Lattice piece is loose on the back.
