Beaded motif of stars and crossed pipes on native smoked deer hide. All the beaded elements are bordered by white beads. One side features stems of blue and yellow along with blue and yellow stars, the rectangular bar on the bottom is done in pinks and green The other side has yellow stems, green, blue and pink stars and the bottom strip is orange and blue. The pull string is original and has 2 tin cones per string. The bag is 14" long with 5" of bead lined wide fringe on bottom, circa 1870. Tobacco bags from the prairie tribes are very rare. Collected from a family in Northeast Kansas that had acquired this tobacco bag from the reservation.
