Pictorial Beaded Medicine Pouch. An interesting pictorial piece, Northern Plains, probably Cheyenne, depicting what appears to be a Cavalry soldier (note the blue trousers with yellow stripe) on horseback, with a woman standing nearby. On a white beaded field. 7" x 4 1/2" body with beaded fringe and cones, overall length is 12", circa 1880s. Condition: drying native hide, missing fringe and some bead loss on front. Includes report from University of Arizona regarding age of bag and use of beads.
