Pickup (Columbia, 1951). Insert (14" X 36"). Low-budget auteur Hugo Haas sets the standard for his body of work in the "bad girl" genre with his first American film. Haas directs and co-stars with Beverly Michaels in the tale of a railroad dispatcher (Haas) seduced by a sleazy tramp (Michaels), who is after the money he has saved. Since Haas is going deaf, Michaels and her new lover (Allan Nixon) talk openly about murdering him...without realizing that he really can hear! Haas followed this up with such titles as "One Girl's Confession," "Thy Neighbor's Wife," "The Other Woman" and "Hold Back Tomorrow." This insert has light edge wear and tears with tape on the back, light soiling and a few small stains. A wonderful example of '50s tackiness! Fine/Very Fine.
