<td width="100%">
Awesome hand painted Pickard cider pitcher in the magnificent Aura Argenta Linear pattern. Large pitcher, with hexed major perimeter, adds to the art deco styling of the overall pattern. Measures approximately 9 1/4" from handle-to-spout. Condition is very good-to-excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Extremely minor wear to the gold trim on the edge of the handle, and platinum on one of the clusters of "buds."<p>Signed by J. Ruhland, an artist I had never seen/heard of before, and not referenced in Reed's book, the Encyclopedia of Pickard China. Consensus of the Pickard Collector's Club Research Committee is that this is a NEW identification of a Pickard artist. It is also believed to be one of the earliest appearances of the Aura Argenta Linear pattern at Pickard. Stamped with Pickard Mark #5, found in use from 1905 to 1910. Also stamped with a Limoges manufacturer's mark identified as Jean Pouyat Mark #5, found in use from about 1890 to 1932. Member, Pickard Collector's Club.
