In full, “<I>Please to draw out an account of the Arms belonging to Capt. Watsons Company that have been delivered Into Store and Examine it with the Certificates. All that can be paid for by me I have marked in his Account A. Examine Mr. Converse's return to see if any Guns were delivered to the Company with which they must be Charged.</B></I>” Captain Richard Varick was military secretary to General Schuyler, serving as Mayor of New York City from 1791-1801. Docketed on verso by Varick “<I>Albany March 22d 1776/From Genl. Schuyler</B></I>” under which Varick has drawn his trademark paraph. A member of the Continental Congress (1775,1777, 1779-1780), Schuyler had been appointed one of the four Major Generals in the Continental Army in 1775. Arrow-shaped hole in blank area.
