Industrialist (1832–1901) whose pork packing plant, Armour and Co., introduced refrigeration and revolutionized methods of canning. TLS, one page, 8 x 11, personal letterhead, February 4, 1889. Letter to the secretary of the Trinity Historical Society. In part: “Enclosed you will find a letter…by the late Alexander Mitchell, which I am pleased to hand you for your collection. I am having a search made for a photograph of my brother, Joseph F. Armour, also letters written by him.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, toning and soiling to edges, as well as some dampstaining along right edge.
