Philadelphia style percussion derringer marked Gillespie on lock and breech. Gillespie of New York city was one of the most well known makers of quality derringers. The pistol measures 7-1/4” overall with 3”barrel of approximately .50 caliber with six (6) groove rifling and is of large proportions. The metal surfaces show a light gray patina with just beginning light pitting and normal aging. The stocks are very goodwith slight edge wear. There is some faint case hardening on lock and breech.
