Phil Ochs Unreleased Tape Recordings (1963) Reel to reel recordings by the "Protest Singer" (his preferred term was "Topical Singer"), made in 1963, a year before his first album on Elektra would be released. Only a few of the songs on this tape were later re-recorded for his albums. The sound quality is overall fantastic, although there are a few minor drop-outs. The tape was recorded at 7 1/2, on an 8" reel to reel. There are a total of 25 tracks, including an early version of his famous anthem, "Power and the Glory." Other tracks include: "The A.M.A Song", "The Ballad of Davey Moore", "On My Way", "Morning", "The Ballad of U.S. Steel", "Once I Lived the Life of a Commissar", "The Ballad of Lou Marsh", "New Town", "Hard Times in Hazard, Kentucky", "Time Was", "I'll Be There", "Paul Crump", "The Ballad of William Worthy", "The Ballad of Oxford, Mississippi", "Talking Cuban Crisis", "How Long", "Never Again", "Don't Try Again", "First Snow", Untitled Blues Song, "The Ballad of Raben Jadarmio", "The Ballad of Alfred Packer", "Talking Plane Disaster", "Spanish Lament".

Shipping: Recordings (view shipping information)
