Phenomenal Victorian Walnut w/Burl Cylinder Roll Secretary Desk with Burl front. Very well taken care of. Has an unbelievable carved crest top, which has nothing but the best. We believe it to be morning glory flowers carved along top. Has original retainer sides to the crest. Magnificant burl throughout the entire piece. Burl is all 100% condition. The carving is unbelievable 3 dimensional carving throughout the front crest and throughout top of doors. Cylinder roll has the double burled divided roll, pulls out to a fitted Post Office style interior. Base has 4 drawers, all burl, in all original finish with original brass pulls. Unusual that it has 2 doors (1 to left, 1 to right) which are also burled. Sides are all paneled, all type, all right, all original throughout! Over 30 years of conducting auctions, we've never had a better one to date. Magnificent carvings, very unusual size. Measures approx. 103 in. tall x 46 in. wide. 25 in. deep, 95 in tall with out the top crest on it. This one is the "Grand Daddy" of all cylinder desks. This piece came from a wonderfully and highly decorated home, owners had impeccable taste and many beautiful items. Surely would bring between $8,000 to $10,000 in retail market or Victorian show.

Pick up of items will be done at the convenience and scheduling of the auctioneer only. If you cannot make a scheduled pick up time, additional fees may apply. If you are picking up items that have not been paid for, we will accept CASH ONLY at time of pick up, however, payment must be made within 5 days of auction. b) For invoices $1,000 and under are BANK MONEY ORDER OR CASHIER'S CHECK. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL OR CREDIT CARDS. Please do not mail cash. An additional $20 fee will be charged for wire transfers of funds under $1,000. For invoices above $1,000, we require payment by bank wire transfer. In either case payment must be paid in full within 5 business days of sale, otherwise Auctioneer may resell merchandise at public or private sale and retain 20% deposit as liquidated damages. In either case, payment must be made in full within 5 business days of sale. Failure to make payment within 5 business days will also result in an additional $50 fee to be added to your invoice to cover additional collection costs.
c) Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract. If you bid on a lot and win (even if the bid was placed accidentally), you are liable for payment.
d) If you are mailing payment using FedEx, UPS, any overnight delivery service, or special delivery - PLEASE DO NOT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE FOR DELIVERY. (if we have to track down packages or pick up at Post Office, this will slow the process and result in delay of shipping items).
e) Anyone who does not follow these terms will receive negative feedback and a dispute will be filed immediately, unless a longer term has been worked out in advance with Tim Chapulis, i.e. over sea's buyers or buyers out of the country.
