Virginia statesman. ALS, one page, 7.25 x 9, December 13, 1759. Letter to an unidentified gentleman. In part: “Under cover with this is Mr. Redout’s Commission…I shall use all my little influence to have Mr. Ridout confirm’d in his Office. Altho’, I am apprehensive my Recommendation will not have much Weight, as they have many friends at home to provide for. However, I doubt not, but that, thro’ your influence alone, he will succeed.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, several pencil notations, and a bit of light soiling.
