One page, 12.5” x 7.75”, tipped on to a stiff backing sheet, Trenton, New Jersey, February 13, 1836. Peter Dumont Vroom (1791-1873) has signed this military commission document appointing Silas Crane to Major of the 1st Battalion of the 5th Regiment of the Monmouth Brigade.
