Handwritten letter by Pete Seeger, signed "Pete," at the bottom of a TLS sent to him by Tony Glover, one page, 8.5 x 11, Little Sandy Review letterhead, December 29, 1960. Glover asks Seeger for his thoughts on Sonny Terry "as a musician and/or man" for a tribute in The Little Sandy Review. Seeger responds, in full: "Quote: 'Sonny Terry, like many true folk musicians, knows one idiom only, but he knows it very very well. He can make that mouth harp talk. Of course, he's a fine singer too and his rhythm can set a concert hall full of foot tapping. But let me most of all pay tribute to him as a person, who never let his blindness make him discouraged or scared, and who always looks to see the good in people, and the fun and good times he could bring to this world. His trip to India was just a start. Some day he and his great artistry will be known throughout the world.' Ok?" In fine condition. Accompanied by a typescript of Mel Lyman's letter about Terry and a transcript of Seeger's quote.
