Interesting archive of material related to Pete Seeger and the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, a non-profit founded by Seeger and his wife Toshi to protect the Hudson River and surrounding areas through advocacy and public education; the organization is known for its sailing vessel, the sloop Clearwater, and for its annual music and environmental festival, the Great Hudson River Revival. The lot includes two letters signed by Pete Seeger (with one also signed by Toshi), two promo photos of the great folk singer, and a collection of 74 original vintage photographic negatives, held in two envelopes marked "Clearwater '70," with images of the sloop Clearwater and its surroundings, festival performers and crowd, Pete Seeger and others performing, and more. Fifty of the negatives are medium format (56mm x 56mm), and the remainder are standard 35mm frames.

The TLS is signed "Pete" (with banjo sketch) and "Thank you very, very much—Toshi," one page, 8.5 x 11, October 30, 1975, in full: "Just a note to let you know that the pottery arrived safe and sound and the family really appreciates it. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime." The ALS, signed "Pete Seeger" (with banjo sketch), one page, 8.5 x 11, annotated as September 1980, in part: "Wish I could help, but it's too short notice—I'm committed for work elsewhere." In overall fine condition. Accompanied by two glossy promo photos affixed to lightweight cardstock mounts, and a newspaper clipping about the sloop Clearwater.
