Depth 5 1/2 in.

Two forms of hand-held war clubs are represented here, a straight-bladed axe and the familiar star-head club. All parts appear to be of the same age and thus integral (the star-head slips off but wear patterns on the wood suggest that this is the original shaft). The copper alloy parts are in good condition, as is the wood except for a broken lower end on the star-head club. The original rawhide components are brittle and abraded.

Provenance
Arte Textil (Steve Berger), San Francisco, California

Importa
