Felipe II cob 2 Reales Assayer Do over X, Cayon 3431-2, choice VF+, fully struck and very attractive. On this example the Do assayer mark for Diego de la Torre is clearly engraved over an X, the assayer initial for Xines Martinez, who preceded de la Torre at the Lima Mint from 1570-71. Extremely rare and important transitional piece and the first we have seen except for the Sellschopp coin, #70. 6.83 grams.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
