<B>Felipe II Study Group of 1/2 Reals,</B></I> Cayon 3258-3263, seven examples, all struck by Diego de la Torre, assayer in Lima from 1577-1587 and 1592. Three pieces have the D below a circle with a star to the right, one has the D below a dot with a star to the right, another has the D below a circle with the star to the right and a P below the PLVS, another has the D below a dot with P to the right and a star above the PLVS, and the final example displays the P to the left, D to the right and a star punched over an X below, the assayer initial of Xines Martinez, who was the head of the Lima Mint from 1570-71. The grades are generally VF with one piece XF and none are holed or mounted.
