Important, engraved, Colt Single Action, sword, and over 200 original, historical letters and documents. Many important photographs from his birth certificate to his funeral and everything in between. Complete records of his long service to the Mexican revolution. Not only was he a close friend of Alvero Obregon but also served on the President’s cabinet and was present at his assassination.
Engraving on the Colt is by Wilbur Glahn with signature “V” on the butt, serial #341503. Factory Ivory grips with Colt medallion, interesting “true” notch in grip. Factory letter states, .45, 5 1/2”, Nickel, Ivory, Sold to George Horner Hardware Co, (Loredo, Texas) Shipped to Stauffer, Eshleman & Co., New Orleans, Louisiana. There was one gun in the shipment. All the aspects of the revolver are verified by the letter except the engraving, which is not listed. The revolver retains approximately 90% of the original finish and the edges are sharp and clean. The bore is bright with no pitting visible and all the markings are sharp. Letter included by Edwin Wynn Paul with research relating to the engraving. The lot includes the Colt (1), and his General’s grade dress sword with eagle pommel, etched and gilt blade (2) . A pair of gold plated medals for valor, circa 1927, one “The Independent Party of Colima to: Lieutenant Colonel Juan H. Jaime / Lealtad Y Hombria – Nov. 13. 1927” on ribbon and “Reconocimiento Al Valor Y Lealtad Del C - Juan H. Jamie & Centro Director Obregonista – 13 – Nov-1927” both in presentation box (3), Enameled service badge (4), Jaime’s 3 Star General’s visor hat with Mexican eagle (5), and a brass cavalry spur with strap (6). The papers and photos span an honored career including his many years of service in the Mexican revolution. Documents range from his birth certificate to his death. Photos of friends, such as a signed photograph of General Alvero Obregon. Many official government documents with stunning letterheads and personal correspondence, including articles about the assassination of President Obregon. All documents translated to English. This is a lifetime collection kept together by the family of Jaime and transferred to noted Colt researcher John A. Kopec. A historical collection with impeccable provenance and family history.
