A grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt (1843-1899, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr. became a well-known writer, newspaper publisher, and movie producer.



He produced C-V Newsreel serials shown in movie theaters before the main feature. They were produced in Southern California in the early-1920s. It was a short lived newsreel and was an offshoot of the Vanderbilt tabloid newspaper chain (Vanderbilt Newspapers Inc.). "C-V" stands for Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr.- the producer of the series.



In excellent condition. Gilt lettering on the cover. Pages and binding are tight. The pages are free from any markings and are very clean.



I am listing this book and a large collection of books by noted authors from the estate of John and Jean Siddall. Many of the books are author inscribed. John Siddall was the editor of "The American Magazine" in the mid to late 20's. A little information about John Siddall and "The American Magazine".



In June of 1906, muckraking journalists Ray Stannard Baker, Lincoln Steffens, and Ida M. Tarbell left "McClure's Magazine" to help create "American Magazine". Ray Stannard Baker contributed articles under the pseudynom David Grayson. Under John S. Phillips, who served as editor until 1915, the monthly magazine departed somewhat from the muckraking style ...
