Published quarterly, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, this run consists of forty issues: Volume I, Number I through Volume 10, Number 4. Quarto (10.75” x 8.25”). Illustrated wrappers or stiff wrappers. The magazines are profusely illustrated and packed with all manner of articles on western life, art, photography and related subjects. A couple of the issues boast signatures: Volume 3, Number 2 is an issue dedicated to western artist Charles M. Russell and is signed by the artist's son, Jack C. Russell on both covers and the inside flap on pictures with his parents holding him as a young child. Volume 3, Number 3 is an issue on the National Academy of Western Art and is inscribed by Harold von Schmidt, Walt Reed, Nick Eggenhofer, John D. Free, Ned Jacob, Bettina Steinke; and is signed by Clark Bronson, John Clymer, Edward J. Fraughton, Clark Hulings, and Conrad Schwiering. Most are contributing artists and the magazine is signed or inscribed on the pages featuring that artist. Condition of the magazines are generally very good to fine.
