A Persian ceramic jar with ram head protome, c. 8th - 6th Century BC, the body squat with flatten base, lightly flared mouth and single loop handle, the ram protome opposite the handle with curled horns. The uppermost portion of the vessel had been slipped in a pale orange and light earthen deposits throughout. H: 3 in (7.7cm). Age cracks on bottom, losses to one of the ram's horns. Ex South German private collection of an artist and art collector, purchased between 1960 to 1980.
