Rare March 1918 World War I French-language broadside measuring 16” x 24”. Letter is addressed to French patriots, commemorating General Pershing. When the U.S. entered World War I and came to the aid of France, General Pershing exclaimed, ''I am here for the express purpose of telling you that the Americans will be proud to be engaged in the greatest battle of history.'' Folded broadside printed in bold black font on very light and thin ochre newsprint with stray but prominent folds and wrinkles. Good condition overall.
