Period copy of Colt .36 caliber revolver showing the name “Americain” in script on the left front of barrel with simulated cross key proofs and handheld dye stamped “C S A” marked on the center of the frame, cylinder and top of barrel. Thepistol measures 12 plus inches overall and with 6” barrel of approximately .36 caliber rifle. The cylinder measures 2” in length. This pistol is crudely engraved and shows bone grips with losses at the edges and some shrinkage also they were not originally fitted very well. The action is working and the finish is dark. The inside of the pistol shows “H.D.” and “H.N.” stampings and a large “10” and “6” number. The inside of the right grip is marked “H.C. Hamilton, 2 N.C. C.V., Co.B”. Note Mr. Gary’s inventory card specifically shows a “?”. Sold without warranty and sold “as is” as we also have a ?? mark. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.: $350-$700
