Period conversion of 1849 Colt pocket model revolver, Gustav Young style deluxe engraved, nickel finish, wood grips, serial #107791. The revolver has been converted to a centerfire cartridge by the addition of aforged recoil plate and shortening of the original cylinder. The pistol was disassembled to load and no provision for loading gate. A frontier gunsmith or blacksmith type conversion. The metalsurfaces were heavily polished when converted and re-nickeled. The barrel address shows "Sam'l Colt" in script letters and Colt's patent also hand cut at center portion of engraving on frame. The engraving was verydeluxe and of the style attributed to Young. The revolver retains 70-80% nickel, refinished at time of conversion. There is some erosion and pitting where the nickel has lifted. The cylinder scene was removed attime of conversion but number is visible and matches. The grips are very good with just a few minor marks. All matching serial numbers. We are open Tuesday thru Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Little John's will be closed the Friday after the auction. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
