Percussion single-shot dueling/target pistol signed John M. Happoldt in block letters on barrel, converted to percussion with new breech added and bolster with nipple. Along with percussion hammer which are both professionally made, possibly by Happoldt. The pistol measures 14-1/8” overall with 9-1/8” heavy octagon barrel measuring nearly 1-1/8” across the flats of the muzzle. In approx. .40 caliber smoothbore. The pistol shows and iron triggerguard with a silver finial and iron spur added at time of manufacture. The pistols are equipped with a single adjustable set trigger. Stock shows good checkering, some even wear, carry, darkening, small scratches, checkering good, small escutcheon around barrel key. Metal surfaces are a grey patina with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. A good early Happoldt. From the William R. Orbelo Collection. Est: $3,000 - $6,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
