Percussion full stock “poor boy” rifle circa about 1850-60s in very good plus to near fine condition showing lightly colored naturally striped stock with light incised carved line around graceful cheek piece on left side of stock. Possibly madein the Carolinas as it shows some traits of that area. The rifle measures 57 ½” overall with 42” medium weight barrel of approximately .40 caliber rifled. The barrel shows a smooth brown patina. The lock is marked warranted. There is somepitting around the bolster and at the center of the lock. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers that are working. No patch box or butt plate were ever mounted. The stock shows just a few minor scratches, mars and minor aging butgenerally has a very nice appearance with a lot of original finish. The lock is secured by one screw. Possibly secondary Confederate used in The Civil War. Est.: $600-$1200
