Percussion Powder-tester, French or Belgian origin, unsigned, circa 1830’s to 1860’s. The tester measures 6” overall. The test wheel is mounted beneath the barrel with a lever lock and release. The metal surfaces show a grey to brown patina with light moderate erosion. The wheel shows hand-engraved graduations. There have been marks cut in the top portion of the stubby barrel, we would guess for some sort of gauge. The wood stocks are fair with losses at the edges. An old brass collection tag number 1014 is attached. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $300 - $600
