<B>(Penobscot Indians) An interesting pair of documents including a manuscript Document Signed</B></I> by six Penobscot Tribe members with their marks, one page, 7.25" x 9", Bangor, October 9, 1798, reading in part: "<I>received from Amasa L. Goodwin Esq. three hundred Bushels Indian corn, seventy five yards of Blue... Cloth, fifty pounds musket powder & Two hundred pounds shot... in full for the payment Due us from the Commonwealth [of] Massachudsst up to October 1898 as for agreement for Land Relinquished by us to the said Commonwealth in 1795.</B></I>" Offered together with a second <B>manuscript Document Signed</B></I> by seven Penobscot Indians with their marks, 7.5" x 6.5", Bangor, November 20, 1810 for similar articles "<I>Received of John Blake Agent for the Penobscot Tribe...</B></I>" The Penobscot relinquished their land claims in exchange for a reservation in what is present-day Washington County, Maine.
