To Nicholas Lookerman, Dover, Dela., on the day of his son's birth. "Master Vincent Lookerman Bradford, a young gentleman of promising appearance and I trust a worthy heir to his Grandfather's estate, made his entrance on the theatre of Life at ten minutes past five o'clock this morning. He squalled lustily and we may expect from his airing his pipes so vigorously at the outset, he will exhibit a little of the old grandad's spunk & spirit...." Mentioning numerous family members. The newborn's father was directly descended from printer William Bradford, who came to America in 1682; his mother's ancestors arrived here in 1633. Young Nicholas became President of the Philadelphia and Trenton Railroad in 1859; he endowed two Bradford Chairs of law at Washington & Lee University. Broken and separated at folds, repaired with nonarchival tape, else darkly penned and V.G.
