Pennsylvania Chippendale Kas from Hearst Collection,
Pennsylvania, ca 1760-1790, in walnut. The broken scrolled pediment with pierced and carved tympanum, over arched raised-panel doors. Lower case with three aligned drawers over two aligned drawers, the whole on carved claw and ball feet. Retains original label from its sale by Gimbels in 1941. 8'6" high x 5'6.5" wide x 25" deep.

Condition: Scrolled pediment, base and feet probably an early 20th century addition. Age cracks on drawer faces. Brasses replaced. Catalogue entry from the 1941 sale of Hearst items through Gimbels Department Store, New York, is taped to the inside of the piece.
