Photo measures 11" x 14" in size and has been hand-signed in black felt-tip pen by James C. Bounds, Cecil L. Calavan, Fred Johnson, Edward K. Guthrie, R.G. "Bob" Kinzler, John Newnam, Clark J. Simmons, Donald Stratton, Richard J. Thill, Ned Shanaman, Lyle Koenig, and Harold Shimer. Please note, the photo shows some handling wear around the edges.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, in the United States Territory of Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941. The attack led to the United States' entry into World War II.
A portion of the sale of this auction will be donated to the General James. H Doolittle Scholarship Fund. The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund was founded to assist college students by awarding one scholarship annually in the maximum amount of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science. Students are selected based on their scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
