Paxton, IL - $2 Original Fr. 389 The First NB Ch. # 1876
This Lazy Deuce is one of the highlights of tonight's Illinois offering, coming from a bank which was in business for less than five years before disappearing in January of 1876. By 1910, a miniscule $471 was listed as outstanding from here. The Kelly census confirms that this is the only Lazy Two known from the bank, and, fortunately for collectors, it is a most attractive example, with minimal wear, good signatures, decent margins, and a most pleasing overall appearance. Just four notes are known from this bank, with this the nicest by far. If rarity, desirability and grade are any criteria, expect this outstanding example, which grades a strong Very Fine-Extremely Fine, to see considerable action before the hammer falls tonight.
From The Lincoln Collection

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
