Paul Weitz’s ring-bound NASA “EREP Site Book” that he used in preparation for the first Skylab mission, signed on the front cover in ink, “Used in training for Skylab I (SL-2), Paul Weitz, PLT.” The manual, 8.5 x 10.5, 1.5˝ thick, dated to March 21, 1973, contains ample photographic maps and charts of the regions lying under Skylab’s orbit, with Weitz adding numerous handwritten annotations throughout. In fine condition, with expected wear from use.

The Earth Resources Experiment Package (EREP) was designed to test the use of sensors that operated in the visible, infrared, and microwave portions of the electromagnetic spectrum to monitor and study Earth resources. A secondary objective of the EREP was to determine what kind and how much photographic data (analog film) could be acquired of the broad variety of Earth features observed on the mission’s ground track. EREP was conceived and operated as a facility, with data from all sensors freely available to PIs on all approved experiments.
